Reversal of the Aging Process

Chart

This study examined the effect of the Transcendental Meditation technique on what researchers in the field of aging have called the "biological age" of a person-how old a person is physiologically in contrast to chronologically. As a group, those who had been practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique for more than 5 years were physiologically 12 years younger than their chronological age, as measured by lower blood pressure, better near-point vision, and better auditory discrimination. Short-term TM participants were physiologically 5 years younger than their chronological age. The study statistically controlled for the effects of diet and exercise.

Dr. Reddy's Comments:
One of the implications of this research is that the benefits of practicing the TM technique continue to grow over time. We need not lose our youthfulness and vitality as we advance in years. This dispels the myth we take for granted-that with age comes physical deterioration and disease. With the regular practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique and other approaches of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care, it is possible to live in vibrant, radiant health every day of our life.
